Founded in 1985 by Chef Marco Rossi, La Dolce Vita has been serving authentic Italian cuisine for nearly four decades. Our recipes come straight from Marco's hometown in Tuscany, where his grandmother taught him the secrets of true Italian cooking.

Born and raised in Tuscany, Chef Marco Rossi learned to cook in his grandmother's kitchen in the hills of Chianti. After training at the prestigious Culinary Institute of Florence, he worked in Michelin-starred restaurants across Italy before bringing his passion to San Francisco in 1985.
Chef Marco believes in using only the finest ingredients, sourced locally when possible and imported from Italy when necessary. His philosophy is simple: respect the ingredients, honor the traditions, and cook with love.
Under his guidance, La Dolce Vita has received numerous accolades including the James Beard Award nomination and consistent recognition as one of San Francisco's top Italian restaurants.
